Saturday marks one year since Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe resigned from office arguing that he had failed to earn the confidence of his boss - Govenor Mike Sonko.Last week, Sonko promised to name a new Deputy Governor but indications are that this may not happen today as he had indicated.

Governor Mike Sonko appears popular in Nairobi but his antics hide a critical management crisis in one of Africa’s most important cities. Many stories have been told about Sonko’s chaotic administration at City Hall but it is only now that Nairobi residents – and all Kenyans – can have a clear picture of the mess. Former county Education executive Janet Ouko painted the picture in an exclusive interview with the Star yesterday. She resigned on Tuesday after working in Sonko’s cabinet for a year and two months.

Moses Kuria has denied resigning as Gatundu South MP. Sources at the Speaker's office had disclosed Kuria had tendered his resignation. The legislator later dismissed the claims during a press conference at the Parliament Buildings and said his life was in danger. He said some people whom he did not mention have had selfish objectives and have been threatening his life.
