OSLO - The oceans are warming faster than previously estimated, setting a new temperature record in 2018 in a trend that is damaging marine life, scientists said on Thursday.

A crucial analysis released Thursday revealed that the world’s oceans are not only warming but that warming is accelerating. This work is linked to newly available ocean heat data, which demonstrates that since the 1960s there’s been more consistent and stronger ocean warming than what’s been previously reported.
